THT Bloodstock-Why THT?

"Emotional Conformation Profiling; because knowing who your horse is, is just as important as knowing what your horse is.”  - Kerry M Thomas

Why would anyone invest in a racehorse without an analysis of its mental and behavioral traits?

The leaders of all successful major sports organizations know the mental makeup of an athlete can have a profound effect on physical performance.

We evaluate and profile your horse’s herd dynamic and the efficiency of the horses psycho-sensory system; that part of the horse that is not “what” they are, but “who” they are. A horse’s psychology is the command center for their body; their performance and self preservation, their likelihood to be injury prone or not spins off of their psychological rhythms which are fed from the sensory system: Things which are also vitally important to consider in any breeding program, for they comprise the behavioral genetic sequence.

Thoroughbred racehorses are living, breathing animals. They are not race cars.  They have their own unique minds, sensory systems, and learned & instinctual behaviors. To ignore those facts and focus only on physical conformation is to invest half blind.

A great deal of time and money goes into the physical inspection of the horse, and rightly so, looking for things that may inhibit physical performance and longevity. But you shouldn't overlook the pilot of your machine; the horses psychology fed by the psycho-sensory system. Sensory 'pot holes' and herd dynamic issues inhibit the optimization of physical ability, trainability and longevity of the horse just as much as anything physical. This is why we do what we do at #THTBloodstock because sensory soundness matters.

THT Bloodstock is the only company in the world that specializes in mental/emotional conformation profiling and the study of Herd Dynamics.

Wouldn’t it be nice to know before you buy a horse how it might react under pressure? Does it have the mental rhythms of a sprinter or a classic distance horse? Does it have an elite sensory system or are their holes that could negatively affect efficiency of performance? Are their clues in the horse’s behavioral traits that will predispose it to a preferred running style? What mental and behavioral traits does a stallion or mare possess? How are those traits being expressed in their progeny?

THT’s unique services can offer insights in all those areas and more.

Whether you are buying at a public auction, privately, dropping a claim, or making breeding stock decisions, THT’s profiling services can be an integral part of your successful investment strategy. We focus our profiles and customize them to the goals of our clients. There is value in identifying the mental characteristics and behavioral traits of a horse, especially when you are one of the only people studying and paying attention to this information.

The Thoroughbred game is very tough. The more information you have, the better prepared you will be to take advantage of market inefficiency, and finding value.
